About

The Anchorage Diaper Bank was organized in 2021 to fill a need gap in our community.

One in three U.S. families struggle to afford diapers, often leading to hard choices between clean diapers and other basic needs. Safety-net programs such as WIC and SNAP (commonly known as “food stamps”) do not cover the cost of diapers.

Diaper need also perpetuates the cycle of poverty. Without diapers, infants and toddlers cannot attend childcare or participate in early childhood education. And without childcare, parents cannot go to work or school.

Our hope is to remove this stress from families through the generosity of our community, while also diverting excess diapers from landfills. Our vision is clean diapers for every baby.
